Artist: Willie Nelson & Willie K.
Date: 3/14/2004
Venue: Maui Community College

Lineage: FM bdcst > CDR received in trade > EAC > Cool Edit Pro (tracking) > flac

Event: Ho'omana'o - Ho'olaulea (benefit) for Manao radio (KEAO-LP)

Manao radio is a dream of the late Barry Shannon and Kathy Collins.
Fed up with the commercialism of radio, they secured one of those
low power licenses and staffed the station with volunteers. These
are radio people doing radio for the love of radio.

This is the final set of the 2004 benefit concert which was broadcast
on a very rainy day here on Maui. There is some strange FM phasing in
places on this recording but not enough to detract from the enjoyment.

Willie K. adds his own brand of energy to this performance. If you've
not heard Willie K. before - he is one of the most versatile
performers you will hear. Rock, blues, Hawaiian, rap - he does it
all. Mainlanders can hear him as part of the Barefoot Natives along
with Eric Gilliom. Keep an ear out for them. Recently, they have
also been playing with another Maui resident - Mick Fleetwood as
part of Mick Fleetwood's Island Rumours Band.
