Willie is from Buffalo, NY and started performing during the ealy 70's in the Greenich area.

Eventually he was signed by Arista Records and releaed his first album on 1980.

During the summer of 1980, Pete Townshend specifically requested Willie Nile to open for The Who on their 1980 North American tour.

This exsposure was short lived and WIllie chose to walk away to preserve his independence.

Going almost a decade without a record contract, though he never stopping writing and performing.

He then put out two releases in the early 90s, and then nothing else again until 2000.

It was another six years before he released Streets Of New York, which was followed by three live recordings in quick succession in 2007,

Live In Central Park and 2008, Live at the Turning Point and Live From The Streets Of New York.

followed by 2009's House Of A Thousand Guitars on his own River House Records.

Willie released his third new studio album, titled "The Innocent Ones" in Nov. 2011.

This performance from 2003 is a Benefit concert and Willie is performing solo this night, playing Guitar, Piano and Harmonica.

I need to note that the CD-r's this recording came from, was burned as only 4 tracks. The second track was 76 minutes long and

Unfortuntaly a 30 minute portion was flawed. Riddled with digi static, starting at the end of track 11 through track 16.

I asked a Mod if it was okay to share this and i was given the green ligth as long as i made it clear which tracks are flawed.

This is a Soundboard Recording, so even with the digi noise, it's still listenable.

though you have the option to fast forward past it, if you are bothered by it.

Check out the samples and enjoy this newly surfaced recording.
