I'm happy to be releasing this evening's event with 2 remarkable artists. I choose to keep these together.
This torrent is going to have a variety of information and was a lot of work to put together.
The opening act was Jewel. Her performance was shared on dime back on 12/26/13.
That previous version had an additional Mini Disc in mono and CD-R in the lineage.
This is a brand new transfer from the DAT master in stereo. No pesky MD compression here.
Another piece of info I need to mention is that the previous dime post was dated Oct 31.
The DAT tape is marked as Oct 30, 1996 and that is the correct date.
I think this is the first time this Deville show is being shared anywhere.
From Marc's original notes:
"The concert was originally scheduled to be held at the Depot in Frankfurt but it was moved to Offenbach which is right next to Frankfurt. Jewel was opening for Willy DeVille and started 3 minutes earlier when I just walked into the venue so I missed the beginning of "1000 Miles Away". First performance of "Last Dance Rodeo" Jewel said she wrote the song this morning here in Frankfurt."
On a personal note, the song "Last Dance Rodeo" is so new that Jewel didn't even have a working title for it yet. (IMO) it's my last favorite song written by Jewel that I really enjoyed. Everything sung and recorded after 1998 has nearly Zero interest from me.
Unfortunately many of her original fans from 1996 will never see or hear this. This would have been a hot item for a tree/branch/leaf trade (remember doing those?) for the EDA Jewel collectors back in the day. Sadly they all missed out on this one. I'm glad to be offering the upgrade here.

Now on to the main event.
Willy DeVille was born on August 25, 1950 in Stamford, Connecticut, named William Borsey.
He passed on August 6, 2009 in Manhattan, New York at age 58 from pancreatic cancer.
There was a tape stop between tracks 2 and 3. Causing track 3 to cut in, otherwise this is complete.
I had never heard this guy before. This was all new to me.
I had to research lyrics for each song to get titles. I have the whole set list figured out, sort of.
Track 12, I'm calling "I Can't Be Satisfied" by Muddy Waters. Willy sings this 2nd verse which is nearly the same.
"Well I feel like snapping pistol in your face, I'll go find a graveyard It'll be your resting place".
but the rest of the lyrics don't match up, I actually can't understand what he's saying, so I can't be sure if it's correct.
I'm betting he was just 'borrowing' that line from Muddy Waters and the song is probably called something else.
And what is the opening Saxophone Instrumental? I know I've heard it before. I'm sure somebody will correct me on this.
Willy ends the show with 3 classic covers. This is a good recording. I had no trouble enjoying this.
Though I did remove some random high piercing whistles between songs.
I'll be curious to see how many Deville fans we have on this site. okay enough talking, now go grab it !!!
