This is the third and last volume recreating this concert series.

For many of the bands, these shows at the Hammersmith Odeon were the last performances of the year (for the decade even, if your decade ends on the X9 year), for Wings it would be the last show they would ever play and Paul wouldn't tour again until 1989. They and the other two "heavy hitters", Queen and The Who had just finished substantial tours.

It probably is a good thing that some of those involved had no idea what the new year & beyond had in store for them. Paul McCartney would be in jail just three weeks from these dates - and in Japan, no less.

Still, Paul has shown incredible staying power and his appetite for touring has only increased in this century. His voice isn't what it used to be by a long shot but the tickets still get snapped up by the stadium loads. Let's not forget that as of this writing, Paul has a # 1 album in the charts. Long may he run.

Elvis Costello is still going strong as well, his last solo album only came out in 2018.

Rockpile were at the top of their game, riding high in '79 enjoying Top 20 hits in the UK, the US & Canada. By 1981, it was all over as tensions between Nick Lowe & Dave Edmunds ended it all. As Lowe put it, "We got together for fun and when the fun had all been had we packed it in."

Thanks for listening. I hope you will enjoy the music.
