Wishbone Ash

I received this in a CD-R trade several years ago. The Bot list shows it was posted on Dime 2005-07-10,
and removed 2005-09-25. These are NOT the original files. I made new FLAC's from my audio CD-R, and made a
new info file by copying the original description and making a couple of corrections. I checked for lossy
ancestry using Traders Little Helper, and it showed CDDA on all tracks, although a couple tracks had a 58%
likelihood.

This may be one of HB's recordings, in which case it is more likely that the reel mentioned below is a 1st
generation copy rather than the actual master. As many of you know, HB's normal policy was to archive his
masters by copying them to 7-inch reels and re-using the tapes for future location recording.

A personal note from me is that I went to this festival, mainly because Pink Floyd was the headliner. Most
of the other performers were unknown to me until I heard them in Germersheim. This event turned me on to
Wishbone Ash, Rory Gallagher, Atomic Rooster, and many other artists I had never heard of before.

Hey everybody, here�s another great show from the 2nd British Rock Meeting in Germersheim 1972:
Wishbone Ash with their original line up, including Ted Turner!! Unfortunately I never saw a complete
show elsewhere in this lineup, so I post this amazing show, although it has some quality problems,,,,

Sadly, I didn�t see too much of their performance in Germersheim, cause we didn�t know them those days,
and we were preparing ourselves for Rory Gallagher and the other great Bands who would appear after
Wishbone Ash at our tent......
In the following years, we listened many times to their famous records and I always wondered, how good
they really were at Germersheim! Fortunately, I recently picked up this master reel, among others, and
was able to listen to their set, after more than 30 years! It�s simply great!!

Unfortunately the taper wasn�t also prepared for such a great performance and so he was a little too far
away from the stage! The overall sound of the tape is not bad, but the quality changes costantly from
really great to very distant....
Also it has all the typical festival noise, especially on the quieter passages.

Nevertheless I really like that show and listened to it many times, recently. This is probably a "must have"
for anybody interested in this scene, anyway!

The 2nd British Rock Meeting Festival in Germersheim, Germany,was a big festival with more than 40 Bands
which happened from Friday May 20th to Monday May 22nd 1972!
