WISHBONE ASH – Offenbach, Stadthalle
OCTOBER 31, 1974

Lineage: My 1st generation TDK SA 90 cassette (azimuth adjusted, speed checked)>CD-R>EAC>FLAC (level 8)>Bit Torrent (6.1.2.)>DIME>you!

Sound quality: 4 (out of 6)/vg++

NOTE: this is NOT a copy of the 1994 silver bootleg CD "Fingertips And Rock & Roll"! Due to the limitations of the then current 74 min. CD format, the bootleggers at Monstie had to omit "The King Will Come and "Blowin' Free". Also, the recording on that CD was EQ'ed ("remastered", there days), and this here is left untweaked.

BTW; only 10 numbered copies were made of this CD as burning CD-Rs was still almost impossible and insolently expensive, back then (remember?).

The master tape came with 2 min. of "No Easy Road" after "Time Was" when it cut out; these were left off to fit this show on one CD. The rest of the song and their last encore "Where Were You Tomorrow" were obviously not recorded.

There are only three known recorded shows from the first leg of Wishbone Ash's 1974 tour behind their comeback album "There’s The Rub" when they would still play "Lady Jay".
This tour was the only time in their career that they dared to play EVERY song from a current album.Seems they were pretty confident about their latest product, and quite rightly so as it may be considered their best effort next to their monument "ARGUS". Along the tour, they first dropped “hometown” and then “Lady Jay”, unfortunately.

The other two known shows (Birmingham Odeon, Oct. 19, and Ludwigshafen Eberthalle, Nov. 1)are of considerably inferior quality.
So, if anyone here is inclined to sift through their boxes in the attic or wherever, it would be real nice and a gain for all Wishbone aficionados....

Enjoy my best sounding recording from my favourite leg (due to “Lady Jay” still being played”) of all-time fave Wishbone Ash tour.
