::: EXC stereo FM broadcast. Check samples for byte-biting potential or quick audio sniffs.
::: Warts: None except DJ voiceovers & brevity.
::: Many WDR folk concerts of this vintage were taped in Cologne at the Funkhaus - maybe these, too.

Recording Information ::: WDR 5 Radio stereo radio broadcasts (circa 1990) -> unknown but nice equipment(possibly Revox B260 tuner) -> master off-air Maxell XLII-90 cassette, Dolby off, bias accidently set to 120 instead of 70.

Playback 2011-07-23 ::: master stereo off-air Maxell XLII-90 cassette on Nakamichi BX-300 cassette deck, Dolby off, 120 bias (as noted above & tape over that side of the cassette hole dudes) azimuth & pitch adjusted, heads cleaned & demagnatized -> Tascam CD-RW900SL professional CD recorder -> CD-RW, no track splits -> computer -> EAC secure mode (logs made) -> wav files.

Remastering 2014-07-27 ::: wavs -> Audacity [normalisation to remove DC offset, channel/phase alignment, fades, manual one-at-a-time glitch, bump, pop, click, dropout & dullspot repairs, volume adjustments, NO equalisation - speed adjustment checked with spectral analysis & was spot on] -> CD Wave (track splits) -> flacs (Trader's Little Helper) -> yr ears. First uploaded week of 2014-08-03.

Line-up ::: Wizz Jones - acoustic guitar, vocals.

Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.

DimeTravel 049 ::: Thanks to the original taper & trader & DIMER (before he left this mortal coil), Brinkhoffs, who put up with some horrific other music during the re-broadcast in order to land these tracks for me. ::: Corrections welcome ::: Well this is really excellent. Only a couple of irritations. One is that the DJ/moderators talk over the intros to at least two songs, another is the brevity of the recordings - 2 short excerpts from 2 concerts WDR likely has the complete versions of. Still, this is a period of Wizz Jones that is virtually undocumented, we gotta take what we can & at least this is nice quality & quite enjoyable! Listen, enjoy, show appreciation, share, give, spread peace. Yers truly, Knees
