Excerpt of a review from the Providence Journal:
The emotional center of the afternoon was the guest appearance of
iconic pianist Dave Brubeck with Wynton Marsalis’ group.
Marsalis brought Brubeck (who was given a hero’s welcome when he
arrived at the Fort) to the stage, introducing him as
“more than a legend.” Brubeck and the group then did a swinging
version of Brubeck’s “Blues for Newport,” followed by a tender duet
between the two stars on “These Foolish Things.” Then Brubeck
rolled back a few decades with a powerful, fleet reading of his
Chopin-based “Thank You,” then finishing his appearance with
“Take The A Train.”
