This was Yes' second show in a week that was shortened due to bad weather. For some reason the band seemed to take a really long time to come on stage after Asia had finished. I thought it was odd that the roadies just sat around for a good fifteen minutes after the stage was completely prepared. Perhaps there was already some discussion backstage regarding the weather? At that point there had been only been one passing shower, no thunderstorms.

During the first two songs, lightning could be seen in the distance. Less than twenty minutes into the set, Squire said, "We've been told to be concerned about the lightning factor" and that they should stop playing. When people started to boo, Howe pointed to the sky and exclaimed, "That, my friends, is death! That is death to a guitarist!" The band left the stage for twenty to thirty minutes. The lightning seemed to die down. To the cheers of the crowd, they came back on and launched into Tempus Fugit. However, this was shortlived. A representative from the venue soon announced that due to an approaching storm, they'd only do one more song for the evening. Squire was very apologetic about the whole thing. The sad part is, I don't think the storm ever materialized. It was disappointing, but certainly not the boys' fault.

For the Yes set, I moved my position from where I taped the Asia set. The sound is better, much of it due to the fact that there were simply fewer people around (many had left after the first announcement). Also, the settings on my preamp were a little hotter so I didn't have to raise the gain so much when normalizing. There is some wind noise between songs.
