Why did I drive 1000 miles to see YES when I skipped the same show an hour from home? It was really just an excuse to hang out with good friends in Florida. I normally make this trip for Cruise to the Edge but it's so much fun that I'm now doing it twice a year. And while I'm of the belief that it can't be YES without both Steve Howe and Jon Anderson, I generally stay out of the debate and try to enjoy the music. And that I did - it was a great show all around, except for the sound in the hall. For the life of me I can't understand how (in my experience) the sound is always sub-par in these fancy art-center halls. The drums sounded as though they were being played from inside an airplane hangar. Fortunately, we had a good angle and distance from the stage-right stack so after a little EQ from my good friend JW, this is a much more enjoyable listen.
