Rich B., aka Stonecutter, recorded hundreds of shows in New York in the '80s and '90s, and traded for hundreds more. Until recently, many of these have been stacked up in trays and trays of DATs and cassettes in his basement, never shared beyond a relative handful of tape trades back in the day. Through his generosity, a few of us are helping to digitize and share these hidden gems. No one can say how many of these there will be, as we haven't hit bottom yet.

A fun show from early on the “I Can Hear The Heart Beating As One” tour, with lots of songs from that album. Sound is good, though with an odd thing where the hiss seems to cut in and out on the right channel in places — something with noise reduction, maybe? I couldn’t begin to guess, but it’s only noticeable during quiet songs over headphones, and not really bothersome even then, just weird.

Ira mentions that Barbara Manning opened the show, and given that she was the opener for two shows in San Francisco earlier in the month, she must’ve been touring with them. Anyone have a time machine handy? Or recordings of more opening sets from this tour? I have San Francisco.
