Notes:
I have quite a few Hornsby shows, but in my opinion, this is the greatest Hornsby show has
ever played. This lineup from '95 included John D'Earth on trumpet, John Molo on drums,
and Debbie Henry on vocals, three great players missing from Bruce's present lineup which
really made this band a force. I recorded this one back in the days when Bruce still allowed
board patches to a few folks. I was lucky enough to know that you could just show up with
your dat deck and easily get a patch. Of course, this policy changed once 100 folks started
showing up just before a show looking for a patch. The sound man really loved that;)

This was the last show of Bruce's '95 fall tour and a mere 25 days after Jerry's passing.
As a result, there was alot of emotion in Bruce's music this night...and I mean ALOT! The
band was on fire throughout- very tight, even on the seldom-played numbers. Though there
were many Dead musical references, the real gem here is the He's Gone> Wharf Rat> End of the
Innocence. I can still remember the stunning crowd silence during the solo piano Rat>Innocence
segue jam...still gives me chills to this day. Also, the show closed with a beautiful Mandolin
Rain which rolled into a longer-than-usual Brokedown reprise.

This is the full DSBD as I recorded it that night, no mixing or software used to enhance it in
any way. It's a real treat for any Hornsby fan...actually, it's a real treat for any MUSIC fan!
Hope you enjoy it!
