Charles Mingus live at Birdland 1962 (liberated boot)

While waiting for some generous, kindhearted, warm, intelligent (& suggestible) soul to torrent the Wolf remaster of the complete 1962 Birdland broadcasts I've been consoling myself with the other great Mingus shows torrented here recently ... and with this unofficial release. It contains only two of the seven Birdland broadcasts but hey, two beats the hell out of none!

The Mingus shows at Birdland in 1961-62 were broadcast on WADO AM and taped from radio by one Boris Rose, who made acetates from the tapes. They've circulated in various bootleg forms on and off since. Not sure if any are currently commercially available in boot form but according to both the online Mingus discography and what Sue Mingus writes on the Mingus website, none has ever been legitimately released.

Further info on the sessions is at http://webusers.siba.fi/~eonttone/mingus/birdland.html ).
