Hello folks!

David Gans has graciously given me leave to torrent this show, sourced from his soundboard DATs. David gave his tapes to Charlie Miller, who mastered them to CD. David then cloned those discs and sent me a set, which I extracted to my hard drive using EAC. I then rejoined the tracks using Audacity, retracked the entire show using CDWav and converted the files to .shn using mkwACT. The covers took more work and didn't come out nearly so well!

The show itself is very enjoyable, and is a good example of what I consider one of David's fortes: enabling ensemble playing. It's something I know he works at, and it's nice to see in action. Of course it helps to be playing with other people who are also quick on their musical feet (even if they happen to be sitting down at the time), and Mark, Ralph and LJ provided able musical partners on that warm night in January. Even though it's the first night of their tour, they sounded (to my ears, at least) quite tight, though they never did stray too far from the shore. A great night of bluegrass-inflected Americana music. . .my favorite kind!
