7 Inch 1/4 Track Reel Master @ 7.5 ips (Recorded By Bob Mathews)
Transferred By Dick Latvala (Master Reel Playback on a Technics 1506 Reel 2 Reel-Sony PCM-R500 DAT Deck @ 48KHz).
This is a Jim Wise transfer of his DAT via a Sony PCM R-500-Digital Audio Labs Card deluxe-WAV @ 24bit/96KHz

All editing and conversion work with Diamond Cut Forensics 8.5.
Converted to 24-bit, 48kHz using Triple precision math; editing done in 24/48 with 32-bit interpolation.
Converted to 16/48 with triple precision, 32-bit interpolation and DC8.5 Forensics custom dither (Noise Shape 2).

Editing:
Speed changes to stabilize the speed in Set I. Speed was off slightly in a linear fashion, so speed change varied
from -.14% to +1.0% over a given 45 minute period. Set II did not need any speed correction. I noticed instances
suggesting that there were two recorders with some editing done on the master tape. Jim doesn't think it was done.
After all the editing was complete, I did a very light eq to increase bass and treble, and then gain normalized each
channel to -.5 dB.

* multiple instances of static - possibly discharge from record or playback head. I minimized these. Some are gone
completely, others are still audible but minimized. I am sure I missed some but these are all I can find within a
limited time frame.
# Just after reel change/tape flip, cb-radio type noise. Minimized but still there
^ 1 electro-glitch instance (may be different kind from the others) fixed

Other notes:
-In between Bird Song and Sugar Mag, there is loud feedback. I reduced the level so it did not determine the overall
loudness of the recording.
-Several songs clip badly in the vocals. There was not much that could be done with it.
-Truckin' - level change at the beginning was smoothed out
-Deal has an edit or glitch at the very beginning of the first solo. At the end of Deal - hum and buzz starts.
-Bobby McGee - after song is over, Phil's bass and stage mics are increased way beyond what the system could take for
about 10-15 seconds. I reduced these to sound more like what they probably sounded like in the audience.
-Noticeable Reel Change/Tape Flip after Sing me Back Home. Hum/buzz noise is lower afterwards.
-Cryptical Envelopment - very short edit or tape glitch at "summer sun looked down on him"
-WharfRat appears to be a very quick cut/glitch just before 'got no dime' and cuts at "no friend of mine" - probably reel
change/flip (missing several seconds)
