Notes.
The circulating sources are generally very hissy with very little high frequency material and Very little audience
sound as well. So the recording is pretty dead-sounding. According to David Lemieux the only version of this show
in the vault is a cassette, so the lineages of the original ShnIDs listing the orginal source as a master reel is
most likely incorrect.
The show sounds like it was recorded on a cassette player with a dirty record head and using Automatic Level Control.
There is a lot of hiss and mechanical noise throughout. Most of it is gone now, but it's still noticeable.
Playing in the Band probably has the worst mechanical noise during the quiet parts. That's the ALC doing its thing.
For this version:
1. No more cut in Dark Star at "reason tatters" or splice to a different source at 20:00;
no cut in Bobby McGee (I used different versions to get pieces that had no problems).
I cut approximately 2 seconds out of the space at 14:14 because it didn't seem correct. I think there's a
fade out just before that, but I didn't change that, in case I have it wrong.
2. Noisey and clickey pot adjustment in Bird Song was altered by converting to mono (right channel spread across
both channels). Someone had overcompensated using the noisey pot, down to almost nothing on the left channel
for about half a second. I don't think it's noticeable now. There is still one pot click just before the
spot I adjusted, but it was difficult to fix so I left it alone.
3. Too many level and sound modifications and adjustments throughout the show to list.
4. There is a lot going on in this show. You will probably have to adjust each stereo you play it on to get the
best sound. You may have to adjust it differently for the first and second sets.
5. Still not great sound, but the best I can do right now unless someone would like to give me access to the
cassette masters and I could do a flat transfer.

Tagging notes:
Show information is embedded within the header of each flac file.
It will display on any player capable of directly playing flac files.
If converted to wav during processing, all tags will be stripped,
however audio data will remain unaffected.
If you must transcode to a lossy format, do so directly Flac > Lossy.
Use ffp to validate audio integrity.
Md5 values will change if tagging is altered.
