Grateful Dead 1975-03-xx Blues For Allah Studio Outtakes (SHN) - was uploaded to the tracker by Underestimated 2011-06-27 11:13 PM. (http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/showthread.php?t=92095) this said to be sourced from an Italian bootleg CD without details. could be matches for 4 tracks in Part 4 but are shn files. ffp's on matching tracks are different but don't have st5's.

I have another gd compilation which includes individual parts of this collected file. 1975-03-17; 1975-03-26; 1975-04-02; 1975-06-03; 1975-06-04; 1975-06-05; 1975-07-07; are all at Ace's. there seem to be only a few tracks that are left out of this collection and might be reported later. correspondingly, there are quite a few tracks included in this compilation not reported in the individual recordings. 1975-06-17 is at winterland.

Parts I and II give us talking and are interesting for details about how The Dead interact as they decide how to develop songs. Phil works on a chord progression and we witness its evolution toward a song. "Jerry gets an Idea" and they try it out on s301 and lead into Blues for Allah.. Then drums, jam, to Help on the Way. Part 4 is lots more with some side events.

Precursor:
As far as I can tell the diligence leads me to conclude that these sessions have never been widely circulated before. These are not the SNACK Sessions as David Crosby, Merl Sanders & or Ned Lagin are not present. All tracks are instrumental which leaves no work for Donna. Mickey, as far as I can tell is not present either. The month and day are not given on any of the information provided. Listening to s2t14, using deduction, puts us somewhere in the month of March.
Session I starts out with the boys talking nicely amongst themself round the, on strike, coffee pot. It's not on strike, no one bothered to turn it on. After "properly" caffeinating themselves they begin to practice. First up is a new piece from Phil. First, Phil works on the changes using a six string acoustic guitar, then one by one the band joins in & eventually Phil goes to his bass. Part II has Phil working the chord progression & changes for another new, untitled theme. Phil continues to work the changes on an acoustic guitar.
Sessions III & IV are all electric workings of Blues for Allah material.
