So, I love the Grateful Dead. And I love the audience recordings.
These gigs in Egypt are certainly legendary.
They're not exactly known for the performances. They're a bit ragged here and there.
But it's the freakin' pyramids, and the Sphinx is right there! Absolutely legendary. Who else did it???
Evidently the crowds they played for were pretty small. Some sources say it was a thousand people.
Some say a couple of thousand. I'm not sure.
But to me these recordings have an intimate feel to them. It kind of seems like a small town fair
in the midwest somewhere with everyone's favorite local bar band on a summer night. Except the pyramids are right there....
And it's the Grateful Dead!

These gigs are the start of Keith and Donna's last five months with the band.
I've been going through all of the five months, there's some great performances in there.

These captures were recorded by Eldon Porray. For the most part he got fantastic recordings.
Everyone in the band comes through. The bass guitar is very clear. These sound great on headphones. Nice headphones, I don't know what they
sound like on ear buds. lol

Below are the original notes for shn #107305.
The set list has been adjusted to show how I've tracked it.

=============================================

This is a remaster of shn %107305.

All of the work was done in ocenaudio and Harrison Mixbus.
The included before and after screen captures show the whole show.
You can't see everything I do in them but they give an idea of how they are different from the original.
If the original files were high res then most of the work was done at that rate.
The finished product is CD quality. The files are tagged.
