AUD (shnid=148531):

This is a 16/48 fileset. 24-bit > 16-bit via dBpoweramp

Source Info: Bob Wagner's Master (FOB)Audience Cassettes ; Nakamichi 700 mics (mounted on railing in front of the soundboard)> Sony TC-158 (see notes)

Transfer Info:
Master Cassettes (Nakamichi CR-7A) > Tascam DA-3000 (DSF 1-bit/5.6 MHz)> dBpoweramp (24/96) > Adobe Audition CC 2019 > TLH flac2496

Notes:
- Thanks to Bob Wagner for the master (FOB) source
- Thanks to Charlie Miller for the transfer and coordinating this effort
- Bob was the 2nd deck in line for the 1st Set, patched out of a Technics RS-1506. Bob's TC-158 was the lead deck for the 2nd Set
- Thanks to Jake Feinberg and Andrew F for the shnid31330 (FOB) audience source which supplies a patch from the 0:06 mark of "China Cat Sunflower" thru the beginning of "I Know You Rider" (7:27 total), as well as a 0:16 patch in "Drums"
- There were technical issues (bad connection?)in the left channel during virtually all of "China Cat Sunflower" and the beginning of "I Know You Rider", necessitating the patch. Patch source was pitch corrected and massaged slightly to better match Bob's source
- Pitch corrected

Notes:

A nice, robust sounding '79 SBD tape with some hiss.

Some light trimming of the AUD between songs in the first set. Hard cuts were cross faded.

Reduced a momentary increase in levels in the left channel of the AUD during Loser.

Briefly faded out the left channel of the AUD during Althea to remove a moment of heavy static. Not really noticeable in the matrix.

Numerous subtle clicks and pops were removed throughout the show in both sources, more often in the left channel of the AUD. A much more painstaking cleanup process than usual.

Very light EQ for the soundboard source. Used additional EQ to remove momentary heavy hiss in the AUD source near the beginning of China Cat Sunflower, and then after the #31330 AUD patch for I Know You Rider. Wagner's recording had some initial issues here in set 2.

24-second SBD cut in Looks Like Rain, 7-second cut in Drums, and 8-second cut before Sunshine Daydream now patched.

The SBD sound seems to improve after the Looks Like Rain cut onward, just in time for the big jams - a little more dynamic and clarity.
