This is a flac encoded & tagged version of shnid: 16910

Grateful Dead
12-28-87
Oakland Coliseum Arena,
Oakland, CA

Source: Ultramatrix (soundboard/audience mix)
Lineage: Master Cassette> DAT> CD> SHN

*Stranger/Franklin's/Minglewood (through 0:59) had, to say the least, serious tape problems;
these are patched from the circulating audience source: FOB:PCM (Schoeps)> DAT> CD2> SHN.
Other than that, this is a very clean recording of a tightly played show.

Drums and space are seamless and may be re-assembled if desired.

----------

Thanks to Raoul Duke of Bean for the Matrix source disks.
Seeded by Peter Braverman (braverman@earthlink.net), April 2003.

Another installment of The Music Never Stopped Project.

Notes:
Healy's matrix box gave problems from the start. During Minglewood the tape feed was
switched from the box to a direct soundboard feed. Peter Braverman elected to patch in
the fob audience source (shnid=16585) in lieu of the distorted box feed present through
first three songs and into Minglewood.

Charlie Miller's source (shnid=85593) did not replace the matrix box feed. Other than that,
this and the Miller source are the exact same mix. While the distorted box feed is kind of
interesting, it is not particularly pleasant. However, the Miller processing on the remainder
of the show makes for a somewhat better listen.

Flac encoding notes:
All processing with Trader's Little Helper
Shn - st5 generated
Shn > Flac ( level 8 )
Flac - st5 generated and matched to Shn st5

Tagging notes:
Show information is embedded within the header of each flac file.
It will display on any player capable of directly playing flac files.
If converted to wav during processing, all tags will be stripped,
however audio data will remain unaffected.
If you must transcode to a lossy format, do so directly Flac > Lossy.
Use st5 to validate audio integrity.
Md5 values will change if tagging is altered.
