Part 1 of these instructions is for people who have some version of Cool Edit or Adobe Audition. Part 2 is for people who have other .wav editing software (if you don't have any, you can download the Audacity for free at http://audacity.sourceforge.net - you'll need version 1.3.2 (beta) or later)).

Part 1 (Cool Edit/Adobe Audition users):

1. Copy d2t008 and d3t001 to your C:\ directory (non-Windows users will have to modify the script to whatever directory they use, it's easy) and expand the Shn files to .wav.
2. Open up CE or Audition and select Options/Scripts and Batch Processing from the main menu. In CE Pro or Audition you should be in Edit mode.
3. Click the "Open/New Collection" button and open gd88-09-24.scp.
4. Click on "gd88-09-24.scp" in the pane on the left to highlight it and then click the "Run Script" button. Cool Edit will then automatically perform the edit to join the two tracks seamlessly.
5. Save the edited file, use CDWave to retrack it back into two files, then use shntool to clean up the resulting SBE.

Part 2 (Audacity/other software users):

1. Expand d2t008 and d3t001 to .wav (no need to move them).
2. In your editing program, open d2t008.
3. Select samples 37695477 to 38186483.
4. Adjust the selection volume starting at 100% (0 dB) and ending at 237.137% (7.5 dB).
5. Paste d3t001 _immediately_ after d2t008.
6. Select samples 38186484 to 38683968 and again adjust the volume, this time starting at 237.37% (7.5 dB) and ending at 100% (0 dB).
7. Select samples 37826661 to 38670466 and delete them.
8. Save the edited file, use CDWave to retrack it back into two files, then use shntool to clean up the resulting SBE.
