Greyboy Allstars
Waterfront Blues Festival
Portland, OR.
July 3, 2006
Recorded from KBOO FM, which is a local all volunteer community radio station. The station doesn't have a lot of power to broadcast and I feel lucky to be in the area which it reaches. Consequently there are some drops, reception and other various problems like cutting in for interviews and such. Mostly all are a good listen. I have tried to "cleanup" some of the drops in sound and cuts. There is nothing I can do to the reception problems. Most only last a few seconds.
Enjoy, twofthrs

Launched out of San Diego in the early '90s with a fanbase of surfers, skaters and snowboarders, The Greyboy Allstars' blend of hip hop beats, bluesy soul-jazz grooves and indie rock attitude created the West Coast Groove sound that made great fans of modern day bands like Sublime, The Roots and Lenny Kravitz. Their music has appeared in countless films (including Zero Effect and Get Shorty) and extreme sports videos while their searing live sets built a loyal fan base with sold-out performances nationwide (including one recently at Portland's Crystal Ballroom). After a hiatus of several years, the quintet reunited this spring with its original line-up, which includes Karl Denson on sax/flute (Denson's Tiny Universe was a hit at the WBF in 2002), and New Orleans' formidable Robert Walter on keys.
