Notes: Great sounding recording, especially considering it's 32 years old! Hound Dog Taylor...the original electric slide guitar master...the twelve fingered wonder. It's simply hard to fathom the influence this relatively obscure Chicago-land bluesman had on modern music. His electric slide playing alone was trend setting. But the songs have lived on through the years and have been performed by the likes of Gov't Mule, Luther Allison, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and many others. His influence was so great that it would surprise me if even the youngest downloaders have not heard someone perform at least one of the songs that he wrote...many of which are presented in this torrent. Yes, kids, it's true. He really did have 6 fingers on each of his hands. If you don't believe it, go to the blues section and find one of his CDs (rare to find these days, but they're still out there) and see for yourself.
Source: This obviously isn't a pure SBD, but the recording is so outstanding it just can't be an audience recording. I'm thinking that this is possibly a matrix SBD / stage-mic set-up. Or it possibly could be an great set of mics suspended overhead.
