Janis Joplin: Wichita, Kansas-October 24, 1969

Low gen audience tape>cd-r>Bias Peak Pro 5 (song indexing)>EXACT>flac

Here is Janis Joplin in Wichita, promoting her Kozmic Blues album. I have received two copies of this over the years, and both state that Johnny Winter is guesting on this. I am unable to determine if this is so. Blues Number #1 could be Johnny soloing, not sure of this. I don't hear his trademark style. Also, I hear the taper at the start of song Blues Number #2 say "This is going to be good." This song is also incomplete. So I really can't state definitively if Johnny Winter is/is not on this tape. Perhaps others can help determine this. Johnny Winter did guest on Janis' Boston Kozmic '69 show and on her Palm Beach Kozmic '69 show too.

As for this Janis Wichita show: This is a very clean, low-gen copy. Sound quality is VG-, or very good minus. Taper stops deck between songs to conserve tape, so we don't hear talking/introductions between songs. Taper also adjusts channels up and down several times during show. Song samples provided. Could use some help with exact titles for the two blues numbers, thanks. Tape courtesy of the Florida Kid.
