This is a combination of two previously circulated SBD sources, each of which has tunes (and bits of tunes) that the other lacks:

Source 1: shnid 30942, betty-board > dat > flac file (as reported by d. oade) > flac frontend > cdwav (tracks) > flac frontend

Source 2: shnid 118540, MSR>Cass. x 2>DAT>CDR>EAC>WAV>TLH>FLAC

Early Show (shnid 30942 except where noted)

01. Tuning (118540)
02. Think
03. Freedom Jazz Dance
04. I Feel Like Dynamite (patched with 118540 6:24-6:28)
05. That's What Love Will Make You Do (patched with 118540 at 6:57)
06. Mississippi Moon
07. The Harder They Come
[missing] The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down

Late Show (source as noted)

[missing] Tore Up Over You
[missing] Expressway To Your Heart
[missing] People Make The World Go Round
01. I Second That Emotion (30942)
02. You Can Leave Your Hat On (30942)*
03. Last Train From Poor Valley (118540)
[missing] Tough Mama
[missing] Sitting in Limbo
04. I'll Take A Melody (118540)
05. Mystery Train// (118540)
06. Talkin' 'Bout You (118540)

*Crossfade from 30942 to 118540 occurs at 14:47-14:48 of You Can Leave Your Hat On

Notes:

(1) The additional lineage in this combination is FLAC > WAV > editing in WaveLab Elements 7 > WAV > FLAC 8 & SBE removal (TLH). Editing was limited to the adjustments in volume necessary to make the patches and combination work. No EQ or speed adjustments were applied at any point in the process.

(2) Mystery Train is cut before the end; as of January 2013, this is all that circulates.

(3) A curious tidbit: In shnid 118540, there are two major edits in "That's What Love Will Make You Do": a 1:12 cut at 4:55, and a 1:11 cut at 6:42. These edits were not dictated by cuts in the master reel, since there are none: in fact, the only cut in 30942, a tiny glitch at 6:57, is intact in 118540. Instead, exactly two choruses were removed in each edit, and rather skillfully at that. A rough mix for an aborted album release, perhaps?

(4) Many thanks to everyone who transferred, archived, cleaned up, and shared these two sources. We may not have everything from this show, but without you, we would have nothing!

30942 NOTES:

legion of mary

bottom line
nyc, ny

Jerry Garcia - guitar, vocals
Merl Saunders - keyboards, vocals
John Kahn - bass
Martin Fierro - saxophone, flute
Ron Tutt - drums

source data: betty-board > dat > flac file (as reported by d. oade) > flac frontend > cdwav (tracks) > flac frontend

disc 1
1 - think
2 - freedom jazz dance
3 - feel like dynomite
4 - that's what love will make you do
5 - mississippi moon

disc 2
1 - harder they come
2 - i second that emotion
3 - you can leave your hat on

*note* this lineup is exactly what was played. the early show is above with the exception of the night they drove old dixie down (closer). the "sec that emotion" and "leave your hat on" are the first two songs of the late show. sorry, that's just the way it goes. there's a bit more information on the shows here:
http://www.thejerrysite.com/Performance.do?action=previous&id=385

it seems as though reels, people, and time have a way of getting lost, confused, and in the way of exactly recreating the experience with precision. oh well.

just one more thing: the "second that emotion" is smokin', imo.
