This is the 2nd of two nights at The Stone in San Francisco. Listening to them now--- yikes, these are
some hot shows. I know it sounds very jaded and snooty to some people, but sitting in the show.....well,
it was just another show that was a requirement. We were all just compelled to go to all the shows!
I sure am glad that I did, but back then we was po', and getting it together for another set of shows was
hard to do.
We would come back from some big deal at say.....the Oakland Auditorium Arena 3 GD shows,
motels, food, dope, booze, rockin' hard --- big $$$/hard job. We would get home and call 457-6388
and sure enough, she was on the line yapping, The Jerry Garcia Band will play at the The Stone, in
SF on Friday, and the Keystone, Palo Alto on Saturday and Sunday....... . Yep, he got his hands in our
pockets again!
If you got my torrent of 4-25-82 that was up here awhile back, you heard in Don't Let Go where I got
busted for taping. That was 100% my fault. I was a wee bit high and I decided to Boldly go
where...... and I taped the freakin' mics to the pole!! Stupid move, but that song got patched and I got
the rest of the show anyway after we took the mics down. Anyway, be sure to listen to the Dear
Prudence on 4-25-82. There are plenty of DP naysayers around these parts, but too bad. Listen to it
anyway. I promise-- it could be the best one you ever heard. I don't know.
This show the next night? Just a hot show. You listen-- you decide.
I asked lots of people for photos of Stone or Keystone action--- pix of lines to get in, Palo Alto parking
lot scene, hanging all day on Broadway in SF, the line on University Ave, pixs of the interiors,
anything, but no one pooted forth a green rosette of a dense but radiant muffin of their own design.
Very disappointing, but now hopefully someone will come up with the goods for all the other 82 shows
what will go up here! Send that stuff!!! misujry@shnflac.net I need 82 Jerry-centric memorabilia to
create fun PDFs for the torrents!
So, I lieu of stories here is some stuff for those that didn't get to go and wondered what really was
going on at these places.
