Notes:
- Nice tapes. A little bit of hiss, tightly edited, some rough tape transitions, but basically really good.
- Great setlists (especially the late show), and really terrific performances. The vocals are a little rough, but there is some sparkling late '83 guitar work here, lots of energy. I found the early show Deal (check out the solo @ 3:45!) and How Sweet particularly hot. The late show Catfish John is an all-time version of that song, tight all the way through and then really cooking from about the 10-minute mark. The second set of the late show is maybe just a touch disappointing, but probably only because the setlist raises expectations so much.
- I used an alternate aud (Taped by "Tom from Avon, NJ", Senn 421s [hand-held, about ten rows back in front of the backup singers] > Sony D5 MAC [MX-90s] > 1st gen cassette [MA-90s] > Tascam CD-R44 master CDs > subsequent CDs > EAC > wav) to patch the clipped end of Mission in the Rain (basically the crowd) and the start of Second That Emotion (until 5.532 with a .5s crossfade). These and other minor edits (smoothing a few tape transitions, smoothing a glitch @ 4:59 of TUIB), were done using Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio 7.0.
