Taper notes:
- Late show ended at 3:30 am.
- Robert Hunter opened up both shows.
- While attempting to tape RH I was busted. I was able to talk my way out of having my equipment taken and pulled off taping both shows.

Comments: Overall, sound quality on this recording is very good with excellent high end and bodacious lows. There are two main deficiencies. First, there is a moderate amount of intermittent loud and close up crowd noise (clapping, chatting, singing along) and PA feedback. In several potentially deafening instances , I superselectively attenuated the more extreme and disruptive outbursts using Soundforge 6 under maximum waveform magnification between -2 and -3 dB with zero crossings as boundaries. The second flaw with the seed is there is low level tape "noise" towards the end of the second set of the late show (Bird Song and a really smokin' Goodnight Irene unfortuately) with a regular periodicity to suggest it has something to with the tape mechanism. Barring these flaws, this show is ripe with awesome Jerry vocal nuggets that stop you dead in your tracks. Check out Jer @ 05:22 of Simple Twist of Fate (early show, d1t06) where he pulls off some amazing low almost growled "twyyyist uh fate". or 08:31-08:36 of the late show's Deep Elem. Jerry is still the man. Thank god for tapers.
