Notes: The tape was made in the center orchestra, approx 15th row. Security was very
difficult at this show and they were on the lookout for tapers. The tough security
situation led to various problems with this tape (see below), plus you get to hear a
whole lot of audience chatter etc. During the acoustic set, in which the audience sat
down, the mic was placed on the armrest between seats. This placement resulted in major
distortion during the applause between songs. Soundforge was used to cut down the levels
during the distorted parts, and to make the tape sound less jarring for those passages.
During the electric set when the audience stood up, the mic was hand-held at approx
chest-level. Soundforge was not used on the electric set, which is presented exactly as
recorded, audience and all. CDWave was used for tracking. Enjoy this show - we miss you Jerry.
(1) Most of "Blue Yodel" is missing; cuts in at the last solo before the final chorus.
(2) Most of "Cats" is missing; cuts in at the last verse after Jerry's solo.
(3) The tape was flipped after "Think". The deck was hidden under a coat, and the
mic-input volume knob was accidentally turned up. Consequently, the remainder of the
show (last four songs) has a lot more gain. This results in some barely noticeable
distortion in a few spots. When transferring from the master, the input gain to CD was
lowered to account for this, and to make it generally match side-A of the electric set tape.
(4) Tape cuts at the very last note.
