Taped, Converted and Seeded by Chris Mescia cmescia@hotmail.com

Taping Info:

Neumann KM140 (at the sbd,10ft up) -> Sound Devices MP-2 -> 4 track
Behringer Mixer
-plus-
Soundboard Line out -> Mixer

2 tracks from the Mixer analog line out-> Sony SBM-1 (with 24bit Oade mod)
-> Sony D-7 (16b 48kHz)

Note: Instead of the usual ~80:20 SBD:Aud ratio of most matrixes, I ended
up with more like 60:40. The sbd had -very- hot vocal levels in order to
make the room sound nice (which it did). However, the vocal were so hot
that I could not use that much of the sbd, or the mix would have been bad.
Also, the vocals were so hot that on 3 tunes, they oversaturate the mixer
a tiny bit. The crowd was quite loud, so running just the mics would also
not have been ideal. This way I got to make the best of both worlds--enough
of the sbd to compensate for the crowd, but enough aud to compensate for
the loud vocal mix. All in all, I think it turned out quite nice for what
I had to work with. In a perfect world, I would have had the multitrack sbd
to use and add the AUD after the fact, but this world is far from perfect...

Conversion Info:
Sony D-7 -> Prodif 32 -> Samplitude -> Flac

Samplitude was only used to adjust levels, add track ID's, and fade in/out.
