Been away for a bit, but I am back, with a bit of Joni that doesn't appear to have made its way to DIME yet. Not much info known about this one, except that it was in September 1967, and was sponsored by the Couriers Folk Club. The recording is a SBD (I think--sounds too "up front" to be from more than a couple of feet away from Joni's vocal cords), but not a great one. It's mono, for one thing, and though Joni and her guitar are right out front in the mix, there is some definite (though not horrible) muddiness to the recording. Check out the mp3 sample below, so you don't kill your ratios for something you don't want. I still think this is very listenable, and the rarities here (esp the humorous "Dr Junk") make it a "must-grab" for any big-time Joni fan. BTW: there is a cut in the middle of Chelsea morning. Also, parts of this (tracks 1-4) were on the excellent "Off the Record" two-disc set that was seeded here earlier by randall.

Enjoy!
