Smiler says:
The tape flip was repaired from an alternate FM master with this lineage:

FM > unknown FM tuner > Aiwa F770 cassette deck > TDK SA-C90 cassette master.
Cassette playback on Pioneer CT-S550S with azimuth correction >
Sony JE530 A/D (44.1k) > Nomad JB3 > .wav

Broadcast date was 1983-06-19.

The patch source has an FM hiss that is noticable and irritating during
quiet sections - although loud songs sound better (clearer, crisper) on the
patch source, the quiet sections (of which there are plenty) sound better
on the original source - which has its own flaws (read on).

The speed of the original source was adjusted to 97.6354%, in order to
match the patch source.

There is one additional flaw on the original version which is possibly linked
to its incorrect speed - a high pitched whine evident (for instance) prior to
"A Case Of You". This may be a dolby / FM tone that became more prominent due
to incorrect dolby decoding.

Also, there are phase / azimuth errors on the original. (Press the Mono
button on your amplifier to hear this more obviously).

I adjusted the volume and tone of the patch to resemble the original source;
however it is not an invisible patch.

The patch covers a 22 second segment prior to and including the first few notes
of Amelia.

Adobe Audition was used to apply the patch and speed change. Track lengths
were then corrected using CDWAVE - therefore the tracking is effectively
unchanged, although the track lengths have all changed. The lengths seen on
the attached artwork are therefore incorrect (but the track listing is OK).
