Mississippi John Hurt and Skip James -- "Folkside" broadcast --
WTBS, Cambridge, Mass. October 1964

My first torrent. I hope I get it right.

This is something I got in a trade a few years ago, and it's become one of the best things
that's ever come my way in 25 years of listening to and collecting live music.

Sometime in October (or maybe September) of 1964, Mississippi John Hurt and Skip James stopped in
for a quick session with DJ Phil Spira at WTBS in Cambridge, Massachusetts. They did three tunes each,
bracketed by chat with the DJ.

Tracks (total time 38:31):
1. Intro - MJH
2. Louis Collins
3. talk
4. Cowhookin' Blues
5. talk
6. Trouble All My Days
7. Intro - Skip James
8. Cherry Ball Blues
9. talk
10. Illinois Blues
11. talk
12. I'm So Glad
13. talk
14. Ad for broadcast of 1964 election returns on WTBS
15. Muddy Waters Interview (unknown source/origin)

Like I said, this came to me in a trade, so I don't really know the exact lineage. Something like
my CDR->EAC->SHN. The quality is excellent for something of this age.

Track 14 mentions the presidential election on November 3 between President Johnson and Barry Goldwater,
and it's my only clue at correctly dating this session. I haven't been able to find any hard
information about it.

Enjoy!
