This was a warm up gig for MCR's support slot with Muse at the Edinburgh Festival and their appearance at the Reading/Leeds Festivals.
They decided to take the opportunity to release the name of their forthcoming album to the fans and press and to play a few new songs. "The Black Parade" was not only their alter-ego for the night but the name of the aforementioned album.
This is only my second recording and I think it has come out quite well. There were a few problems however.....
For the first 4 songs I was located in SCREAMER CENTRAL!!! Jesus, at one point I thought the mic was gonna explode. I managed to move to a better location during track 5 and the sound improves dramatically once i'm away from the main mosh pit.
Also for some completely unknown reason the MiniDisc recorder decided to call it a day after track 11. At least it had the decency to do it between songs!!! So I didn't get the last 3 songs plus the 2 encores. Pity as they played 2 more new songs, "House of Wolves" and "Cancer", both of which are excellent.
If there were any other tapers there it would be great to get the rest of the set.
