NRBQ
The Bottom Line NYC
October 1, 1983
first set

aud recording, from 1st gen cassette

A few words about the recording.. a real nice audience recording considering the age..very little hiss or tape noise...crowd is having a great time and can be a bit loud in places, but it all adds to the "feel"...there are few places where my tape had dropouts, so instead of leaving the dead air in, I edited them out, so the result is 5 or 6 times where it sounds like a record skiping- really a very minor annoyance.

A few words about the performance...a truly GREAT example of why the Q were the greatest live band in the world at this time...Big Al is in a great mood and plays his ass off...same with Terry...a perfect simpatico type of night...a few great covers ( Tiny Bradshaw, Monk, Billy Stewart)...a Tommy vocal ( Get a Job)..and roof-raising versions of Want You to Feel Good Too and Don't She Look Good)
