a few words fom Scott.....
Aug.14,1988
Sunday Afternoon at the Maine Festival in Portland.
I set up about 20 yards out dead center, sitting in the fold out chairs. It was nice to be able to sit down and relax on a beautiful afternoon....I completely butchered the tape flip and the beggining of Ridin In my Car is cut....
This set features the all time best version of Let It Be Me.
Check out the sweet vocals and Al is just amazing on guitar.
The Late Show was ruined by a brutal downpour and lightning storm..
The set opens with the best I Get the Blues When It Rains, but is cut short by the horrendous weather.
The sound is excellent on the Early show and the Late Show was a difficult taping adventure. I wore a big rain parka and you can hear the rain pelting the jacket...it was crazy.
The Early show is very good and worth a serious listen.
I challenge you to play the Let It Be Me on a good home stereo for someone who never heard NRBQ before, if they don't really appreciate it than they are hopeless.
