Ray Charles Tribute:
Patrick Lamb, Thara Memory, Curtis Salgado, Linda Hornbuckle, Duffy Bishop, DK Stewart, Baby James, and more
Waterfront Blues Festival
Tom McCall Waterfront Park
Portland, OR.
July 2, 2005
Recorded from KBOO FM, a local all volunteer radio station. There is some inherent reception problems scattered throughout these recordings. The station is not very powerful and the team had some problems on the first day of the festival getting everything "plugged in". All in all some great music with a few tolerable "blurps".

No set lists or art. Hope you all enjoy the shows....twofthrs.
Ray Charles Tribute:
Patrick Lamb, Thara Memory, Curtis Salgado, Linda Hornbuckle, Duffy Bishop, DK Stewart, Baby James, and more
Portland's finest blues, soul, jazz and rhythm & blues musicians come together to pay tribute to the late Ray Charles, one of the great forces in American popular music since the 1950s.
The tribute, pulled together by saxophonist Patrick Lamb and trumpeter Thara Memory, uses as its model, 'O Genio – Live in Brazil', a recently discovered film of a Ray Charles concert and rehearsal televised in Sao Paolo in 1963 when Ray, then 33 years old, was in his prime and at the top of his game.
With backing from full horn section and "Ray-lette" backup vocalists, the tribute will feature blue-eyed soul man Curtis Salgado, Portland soul diva Linda Hornbuckle, blues belter Duffy Bishop, 'boogie cat' bluesman Norman Sylvester, former Stevie Wonder collaborator Lee Garrett, crooner Sweet Baby James Benton, pianists Janice Scroggins and D.K. Stewart, and more.
