SANTANA-1971-05-01-Montreux & Beat Club Compilation--incl. new surfaced tracks-------!
Friends, there´s definitely not enough early Santana, w/ Neil Schon, on this site!
Fortunately, a friend brought me 2 recently surfaced audio Tracks(only), from a 3Sat TV Montreux Jazz Festival retrospective!
My first plan for an upload then, was to add these
to the Montreux 71 part of the Boot CD" Live in Montreux, Summer 1971" Boot CD on "Traditional Line" 1315 Label,
to get a great sounding CD of ONE Santana 1971 Montreux show!
But after comparing the Bootleg CD Tracks with the video source of Santana Montreux 71, uploaded here last year here on dime by Neale,
I discovered that the vido tracks are from a different Santana 1971 Montreux performance than the Boot tracks!
The new surfaced 1971 Montreux Santana tracks are the same as in the Video source but EXELLENT quality!
Finally, I decided to make a nice 1971 Montreux Santana Compilation of all available songs from both sources,
by using all excellent tracks from the 1971 portion of the boot, plus all additional songs from the video source!
I arranged these in the order of the usual 1971 Santana playlist & added the 2 unreleased Santana Beat Club performances as nice fillers!
I included in the torrent some pics from an article about Santanas Montreux 71 appearancefrom the Swiss-German Magazine Pop Foto!
The same same Magazine included an interviev with Eddie Kramer from Montreux, who recorded Santana 1971 Montreux performances!!
MP 3 samples below!
Here are some infos I can add to the Santana Montreux 1971 date & venue discussion:
Acording to the Santanamigos site Santana played 3 shows in Montreux from April 30th to May 2nd 1971!
Since this fits nicely in the other Santana 1971 Europe tour dates I trust this dates!
According The Montreux Jazz festival site, the 1971 festival was held from june 12th to 20th 1971!
So I think Santana played befor the Festival, but the concerts were organized by the Montreux Jazz festival organizers!
