Source: SBD
Conversion: EAC from liberated bootleg 'Hound Dog Man'.

Notes: As stated above, this is from the bootleg that was entitled Hound Dog Man. I cannot reconcile the differences between this setlist and the setlist provided in the SRV gig database, so I have no idea if the date and venue of this recording are true, other than this is how I received it in a trade with someone that had HOund Dog Man (you can see the cover and corresponding info in the database). It is obvious that this was not the complete set.

This is a soundboard recording, so the sound is pretty nice but the mix is off. As many know, there are two basic methodologies for obtaining a SBD feed. One is the output directly from the board which is essentially has the same levels as the soundman sets for sound going through the house PA speakers. The other is when the soundman outputs a patch from the board that has it's own mix, and that mix is totally separate from the house mix. This the far better because this mix is balanced for the actual 'line out' signal, so if the soundguy has time to set that mix, he or she will obviously balance the highs and lows and the keys and the drums and the vocals...yada yada yada...so it sounds nice and balanced for getting a nice sounding recording. Obviously, the house mix is balanced for the dynamics of the room which could warrant the guitar being turned down lower through the house PA...or the vocals being cranked up higher. The result is often mis-balanced mixes.

What I'm getting at is that it's obvious that this SBD recording was from the house mix because the whole mix on the recording is outta whack. Keyboard players will love this recording because Reese's keys are the loudest in the mix while Stevie's guitar is kinda low.
