NOTES:

a) Track 2: I dropped the mics at 1:21 into the track. I had to delete 2 seconds of the track and appended the remaining 2 together. The next 15 seconds or so has some mic noise but its not too bad.

b) Tape flips were good, no music was lost, cut some applause so quieter music transitioned into quieter music

I had seen Al in '83 with John Mclaughlin & Paco De Lucia, but this was a first for me to see him solo, per se. When I knew I was going to see Al, I wanted to get better mics for the show. I called my good buddy analog4011 and lent me his sony ecm-33 mics. (thanks.!) The recording came out great except for me dropping the mics (doh.!) Airto was excellent as was Phil. (If you look at the ticket stub, you will see that Phil was "Al Margowitz" instead. Al had a small wall/half circle of electronic gear around him and it was very cool to see him use it all.

I am not sure what this group was actually called. The original seeding of this show simply listed it as "Al Di Meola." I've seen other shows on this tour listed as "Al Di Meola Band" or "Al Di Meola & Airto Moreira." It was the precursor to the "Al Di Meola Project," but I don't think that term was in use at this point.
