DJSCOMICS wrote this in his original seeding:

Digging deeper into the vault of obscure treasure, here is a little nugget for you 80's "art 'n' roll" folks.....while the recording is a bit generated and has that nostalgic compressed FM sound, it should still be a pretty fun listen for anyone even casually interested in this band. Have a great weekend......Kev

Although the band announced that the show was being broadcast live and would later be broadcast on the King Biscuit Flower Hour, that never happened. The Art in America show that was eventually broadcast by KBFH was from Detroit's Royal Oak Theatre March 1983.

It is difficult to categorize Art In America - progressive art pop/rock? Regardless, they wrote good songs with interesting instrumentation. Shishonee Flynn's concert pedal harp stands out. They did get some radio and MTV exposure back in the '80s.

I really enjoyed this show. As djscomics noted above, it is fairly compressed, but the sound is clear with good stereo separation.
