Apha album recorded February to May 1983,so the demos must have been at the end
of 1982 or early 1983.
Stick with this,sound gets better three minutes into the second track.
A great insight into the demos of the songs for Alpha,some just have a basic
guide vocal and a do do do backing. Don't Cry was the last recorded song and
was a last minute addition for the album.

How did I get this? Well a friend of Carl Palmers loaned me the tape around 1983
I sat on it for many years, although a few friends were given Cd copies.
There was also a demo of Barren Lands attached to it but that was Steve Howe singing and its been officially released by Steve,
so removed.

The Barren Land demo was also there, but it's not the same version than the one on the Homebrew CD.
On the Homebrew CD it's clearly Steve with a drum machine and playing all instruments (multitrack)...
the one on my version is a full band demo, with Carl Palmer on drums and Steve taking the lead vocal.
