COMMENTS:
Blame Core Sound for this not being recorded with my CSBs. Sent
them in for repair on the 26th of May, called on the 27th, was told
they would be sent back "next week", fast forward to today and
absolutely zero news. I get these things can take time, but dude,
really? I would've just kept them with the broken clip if I knew it
would take this long. Anyways, I hadn't heard a lick of Ben Folds
before but a few of my friends [Hello, Hailey.] are big fans so
I bought a ticket. Quite a good show with a recording that mostly
does it justice IMO! Occasionally you can hear a few, uh, "atmospheric"
sounds, such as my phone going off (I know, it should've been turned
off...), a few mic taps, and the applause being much louder than the
music. If you can look past that, this is quite a nice tape! I missed
about two minutes of So There because I was buying some of the opener's
merch and Ben came on, like, ten minutes after the opener. I technically
was recording during the entirety of it but the first minute or so is
pretty much inaudible as I was in the lobby and the next minute was me
heading to my seat, so you'd hear a lot of the inside of my pocket.
I held the mic in my hand and covered it with the sticker sheet I bought
from the opening act's merch stand. Genius, I know. I also put my mic
back in my pocket during the encore break and didn't take it out in time
for the start of One Angry Dwarf so that sucks but whatever. Nice to see
that the setlist for this tour varies a lot. This torrent dedicated to,
err, the three young adults directly in front of me wearing "Nirvanna The
Band The Show" shirts. Godspeed.
