performance quality: A (prime Cobs)
recording quality: B+
source: FM broadcast tape, unknown lineage
runtime: 98:55

1st set: according to etree, they list 5 songs.
I believe this has 6 but the last one is very incomplete,
I almost left it out of this post but decided to leave it
in here mainly to help determine what song it is and to
be as complete as my recording of this allows.

1: moon germs 10:11
2: red baron 8:33
3: shabazz 16:52
4: announcer :31
5: solarization 9:43
6: total eclipse 10:28
2nd set:
7: flight time 37:38
8: encore (end cuts after 3:14)

comments: there may be a few seconds missing from the beginning, and
a rather large chunk of the encore, but the rest is here of the
earliest show I've ever heard from Billy. there is far too little of this
era BC around, a very good jazz group, no cheese here at all.
I don't know the title here for the encore, unless I tracked one of
these songs into 2 tracks. my tape of this just says "10/74" but etree
had an exact date and I'm going with it (even though some of the info.
I've found there has turned out to be wrong, usually it's correct). This
is the only 74 show they have listed except for Montreux where "Shabazz"
was recorded and one other without an exact date. This one has a radio
announcer saying it's from the GAMH in SF. If anyone has some more of
this band, this is my favorite Billy Cobham band that I've ever heard live.
Whether the Tommy Bolin edition went on tour seems in question, since there
aren't any listings for them and no live recordings have surfaced. This
would be Shabazz era, about 4 months after the July live recording and
either the same or very similar lineup. As always, if someone has
an upgrade or more complete version of this, feel free to post anytime.
This is a fine show, and I bet all with this group are, it's a very fine
band. some of Cobham's best post-Maha efforts, imho, with this group.

do not sell this recording.
trade freely and losslessly.
wanna buy some cobs,
go to a local farmer.
Can't sell this corn cuz
there's no corn to sell here.
this is a real jazz group
playing real jazz music.
