Brand X

Shank Hall, Milwaukee, WI, USA
1st show of tour

Aud recording by Scott the Taper (Thats not an official handle, just what I call him)

Equipment unknown (see tawdry details below). Received as WAV files, converted to flak with TLH.

All the wonderful Brand X recordings being shared by fbauer made me remember this one I had in my stacks. Its from the first show of their 2016 comeback tour at the fabulously cozy Shank Hall. After this remarkable show most of the band came out to sell and sign things; I got a poster signed by everyone but Scott Weinberger. I remember Goodsall in particular being happy to stand at the bar and regale us with some of the most awful stories about life on the road and the drunken misdeeds that caused them to be banned from Milwaukee for a time. I remember stories of bouncing an overweight woman on a bed so hard that she hit the ceiling, and lowering a passed-out friend from the balcony by ropes so he could be cared for without having emergency vehicles at the hotel

As I walked back to my car, a man standing at his car evidently recognized me from the show. He looked up with a big grin and told me that hed recorded the entire thing. We chatted and exchanged numbers. I never got to know him well but he did send me this and one or two other shows. I believe he participated in the surveys I posted here years back as well.

I got this without documents, just files, and the tracking is how I received it. There are a few songs that cross between tracks, but most are tracked individually. Its possible that the taper wasnt totally familiar with the songs, and I can relate. I worked out the setlist as best as I could with the help of setlist.fm and the recording of the Edwardsville show, but there is one title Id be grateful to know and if theres any other errors, please let me know. I left the disc divisions and numbering as the taper made them.
