Someone at the highschool where they were playing asked "Is it ok if we make a recording of the show?" Candy replied: "Oh, well, you know what? We're taping from the mixing desk ourselves, so give me your address and I'll send it to you!". And so she did. Not sure if this was the master tape or 1st gen. I hope she doesn't mind this being shared now.
The tape was running way too fast, though, so the speed was reduced to 94.5% to get it right. (Required speed factor was determined using AI-assisted pitch analysis of the separated instruments' tuning).
Lineage:
Mixing desk ->
cassette (master or 1st gen) ->
Denon tape deck ->
Edirol UA-1EX USB analog input ->
WAV (44.1kHz 16bit) ->
Merging the three tape sides into one WAV with Audition ->
SpectraLayers 13 for stem splitting (vocals / drums / base / guitar / sax / other) ->
(Using AI for speed analysis on sax and guitar stems) ,
Adobe Audition -> Merging stems, applying a bit of reverb to the drums (as it sounded very very dry), rebalancing tracks, applying dynamics processing, track markers -> FLAC ->
metadata tooling -> ffmpeg for speed reduction (SampleRate=44100, Speed=0.945):
ffmpeg -hide_banner -n -i "$InputFile" `
-af "asetrate=${SampleRate}*${Speed},aresample=${SampleRate}" `
-map 0:a:0 -c:a flac -compression_level 8 `
"$OutputFile")
