boombox's notes november 2025:
Opening act, Greene, aka Joe Anderton, did a fine job opening up the evening with his 60s influenced acoustic tunes before the main event. I know from videos, he is also a fine electric player too and I will be seeing him live with a band when I can. As for the Cinellis, this was my second time seeing them in less than six months (and I made two further shows this October too) as this band never disappoints. I was a little surprised to see former guitarist & bassist, Stephen Giry, no longer with the band, but Jorma, a former flatmate of Marco, slotted in seamlessly and even brought a song from his debut album to the mix (recorded with the Cinellis). Speaking of covers, the Beatles song was phenomenal in the room, emphasising just how good this band's vocals are and the Airliner really roared. If you like your blues with a bit of 60s soul, I urge you to check these guys out.

While Greene's set was very quiet, meaning a 10db volume increase was needed, the PA for the Cinellis was then very loud, so I had to fix the tiniest bit of clipping. However, overall this sounds pretty good IMHO. Unfortunately, Sammy The Seal was sat to one side of me for the second half, meaning a lot of work had to be done in taming his applause, which is why it took so long to finally master this. End result though was well worth it - definitely one of my best 2025 recordings and this one has been blasted numerous times in the car.
