NOTES:

I think this was my 7th time seeing Devo? Not entirely sure, but I think that's right. This is the second time they've played at Cruel World (well technically third time, given when they played in 2022, it was two days, and the played both Saturday and Sunday), and this time they were moved over to the slightly smaller Sad Girls stage (not sure why), but that didn't deter all the Devo-tees/spuds, as they attracted quite a large crowd, the majority of them wearing energy domes of all shapes and color (red, blue, purple, neon yellow, black, etc). It was quite the site.

They were playing opposite Garbage, who I really wanted to see (haven't seen them since Cal Jam in 2018) - what a tough conflict, but considering I have Devo tattooed on me, and I was planning on seeing Death Cult on the stage right next door, I decided to choose Devo. And yes, while it's the same set they've been playing for 20+ years practically, and things are predictable, one thing you can't complain or argue about is that they always put on an energetic performance and the crowd is always into it. There's nothing quite like it. It really is amazing to see Mark, Bob and Gerry still rocking it up there on stage at their age.

Sorry Shirley, maybe next time?
