Event & Recording Notes: The Parlor Room only holds about 100 people, and maybe 80 were in attendance. This was a private 'invite only' free music party for local friends of the band. They're hitting the road October 9th, touring their newest "There Near." This intimate show served as a practice / warmup session for the tour. Great times, great music, great friends, and utter sonic devastation! I plugged my ears and set recording levels at almost bottom, and both were overwhelmed. My ears are still ringing and the recording levels were way too hot. I applied noise reduction and clip fix, but it's a little crisp, especially where J used guitar effects. Vocals were pretty under mic'd, which seemed deliberate, as it was the same at soundcheck. The soundcheck was recorded from outside the front door, hence the distant sound. A local artist produced a small batch of 40 event posters that were given away (pic included). Spectre Folk opened.
