Hi Guys, I have spent several years restoring the sound on a very faulty audience tape. I eventually got it pretty good, good enough to share. I used some very expensive borrowed software and took ages to figure out how to use it. It introduced new issues which also needed to be figured out.

I would like to upload it so somebody at Sugarmegs can add it to the system for people to hear it. People have already loaded it to youtube and labelled it "remastered", but they missed the most important fault it has. Massive wow and flutter. That's gone now. It's still only a mono audience recording, but it includes the debut of 'Riders on the Storm' played onstage. The taper didn't record the entire show. Some songs are cut, but 'Palace in the Canyon' and 'Riders on the Storm' are complete. The concert is from December 11th, 1970, in Dallas TX, the State Fair Music Hall. It's the late show. Taped by Jim Bayliss for a rock magazine review.

I shared some of it with Jeff Jampol, the Doors marketing manager. He didn't like it , and he said I can do whatever I like with it as long as nobody is selling it and making any money out of it. The mp3 versions might be small enough to email here...but they are long songs. Have a great Christmas 2025 everyone... G Simpson.
